SEA LEVEL RISE

Adaptation Strateiges

Port St. Joe is a rural coastal community currently facing sea level rise and ongoing flood risk. In 2018 Hurricane Michael hit Port St. Joe as a category five Hurricane. This initiated design and planning work around disaster recovery for long-term sea level rise adaptation planning. The Master Plan focused on city-wide nature-based solutions and traditional infrastructure to address flood risk. Project required geo-spatial analysis of compounding flood risk, site surveying, and collaborative community workshops.
